Our Beginning

The Kachhiya Patidar community of Surat, Navsari, Tapi, Bharuch, and Valsad districts in southern Gujarat has a proud history that stretches back centuries. Today, descendants of these Patidars reside all over the world, and especially in the United States of America, where they are known as compassionate, hardworking, and resourceful people. Members of our community are engaged in a wide range of enterprises, including lodging, engineering, medicine, science, business, and service-related industries in both metropolitan cities and small towns across America.

Even though we have made our lives in a foreign land, we have not forgotten our roots, culture, and rich heritage. We continue to remain actively involved in local and national organizations that promote cultural, religious, and sports activities, as well as celebrating important festivals and community functions.

As immigrants, we know our ancestry traces back to Gujarat, India—but questions often arise among our children: Who are we? Where did our forefathers come from? It is our responsibility to share the history, identity, and culture of the Kachhiya Patidar community with the younger generations.
